How can I become a delegate to the summit?
You can obtain, complete, and submit an application to be a delegate by visiting the NCD 2010 Summit website (deadline for submitting applications was October 15, 2009) . In addition to the delegate application, the website provides information for interested participants on the Participant page.
What do the scholarships cover?
Scholarships will cover hotel room fees and associated taxes only for 2–3 days as needed, an allowance to help with the cost of meals not provided as part of the summit for 2–3 days as needed, and a hotel and meal allowance for a personal attendant if necessary.
Scholarships will not cover airfare, rail, car or ground transportation expenses associated with traveling to and from the Summit and incidental room charges such as internet access, movies, food charges, etc.
I have a disability that requires me to use an attendant when I travel, so would the expenses for my attendant be covered?

If I am not selected to be a delegate, is there any way that I can participate from a distance?
This meeting is not equipped for remote participation. However, the findings from this meeting will be captured in a public report that will be released by the NCD and available on their website following the Summit.
I have a hearing disability, so will you be able to accommodate that during the summit?
Conference planners will ensure that all accommodation requests received are met. Delegates invited to participate in the conference will be provided a form to complete indicating accommodations, including CART, sign language interpretation or other to accommodate a hearing disability.
I am blind, and while I can use braille I usually request everything in advance electronically. Will you be able to meet that need?
Conference planners will ensure that all accommodation requests received are met. Delegates invited to participate in the conference will be provided a form to complete indicating accommodations, including a request to receive materials electronically. To the extent materials are available in advance they can be e-mailed to you. If materials are not available in advance, they will be available on diskette at the registration desk.
Since this will be the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, will you also be holding any type of celebration in conjunction with the summit?
Currently several organizations are exploring the feasibility of hosting a celebration of the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The NCD is participating in these discussions. To the extent possible, delegates will be included in the invitation to participate in any celebration. Delegates might be responsible for any fees or costs associated with attendance. More details will follow as plans are finalized.
I would have liked to help support this event, but don’t have much money. Is there a way that somebody like me can provide support?

I am pretty knowledgeable about a particular subject, but if I am selected I would like to learn more in advance of the summit to be able to participate more fully. Do you have any suggestions in that regard?
Selected delegates will receive advance materials pertaining to their assigned topic area. These will provide the foundation and background necessary for productive working sessions at the Summit.
