National Survey Design for One-Stop
Career Centers
New Editions is designing a national survey of all Workforce Investment Act
(WIA) One-Stop Career Centers. The survey considers four major areas of operations:
accessibility, partnerships with other agencies and programs, outreach, and
day-to-day operations. The survey will gather descriptive data and assess compliance. Respondents
are all career centers (comprehensive, affiliated, specialized, kiosks, mobile
units) administered by State and Local Workforce Investment Areas that receive
their core funding through WIA. We will utilize a combination of self-reported
information, administrative data, and site visit observations. The results
will be incorporated into an electronic database that can be updated and expanded
in the future.
