The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) is a non-profit, technical professional association that is the leading authority in areas including computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics. A major component of the IEEE’s mission is to provide technical information through its periodicals. All scientific papers and communication that is published in the periodicals go through a review process. At least two people who have experience in the subject matter of the paper are asked to review the paper. The reviewer’s comments and opinions are then used by the editor to decide whether or not the paper should be published. Under a contract from IEEE, New Editions Consulting, Inc. is assisting with the review process.
IEEE has developed a web-based system to help with this review process. Authors submit their papers online and editors are assigned to each paper. New Editions is providing support to editors by helping enter and assign reviewers, send reminders, and periodically check the status of papers.
