Subject Matter Expert/Project Manager

Background

The National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials (https://ncrtm.ed.gov is designed to house and facilitate the sharing of training and educational materials for the vocational rehabilitation (VR) community. These activities support RSA’s leadership role in developing skilled VR personnel. Primary users of the NCRTM include but are not limited to RSA staff, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) administrators, RSA stakeholders, service providers, Federal partners, discretionary grantees, educators, non-Federal partners, business, VR counselors, interpreter educators, sign language interpreters, and others.

General Purpose

Brings subject matter expertise to the project to ensure resources and products are timely, relevant, reliable, and of the highest quality. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify, vet, and curate resources and events for inclusion in the NCRTM
  • Develop working relationships with key organizations and conduct outreach to educate and engage NCRTM audiences
  • Prepare and deliver training, identifying presenters when needed, contributing to/developing presentation, and ensuring quality of presentations and events
  • Develop and disseminate information about the NCRTM and resources relevant to VR through newsletter, social media, podcasts, presentations, and other outlets.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Ensure quality for all products and services delivered under the contract.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Develop project evaluations and assessment of results
  • Provide management and administrative oversight
  • Responsible for overall implementation including quality assurance
  • Serve as primary point of contact with COR/Client
  • Collaborate with technical staff

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (Preference for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
  • 7-10 years or more experience in the vocational rehabilitation (VR) field with a deep understanding of state vocational rehabilitation practices and/or rehabilitation counseling education
  • Established connections in the VR community with the ability to maintain and build relationships to support project goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and connect on national issues related to VR training and education across multiple audiences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for preparing project reports, developing and conducting presentations, supporting podcasts, and conducting other communication activities.
  • Ability to manage timelines and resources across multiple, concurrent tasks.
  • Collaborative approach to work with team, client, and partners.
  • Direct work experience in project management to include supervising staff.
  • Understanding and commitment to accessibility and competitive integrated employment for people with disabilities.
