Enacted by the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, the MFP Rebalancing Demonstration is part of a comprehensive, coordinated strategy to assist states, in collaboration with stakeholders, to make widespread changes to their long-term care support systems. This initiative assists states in their efforts to reduce their reliance on institutional care, while developing community-based long-term care opportunities, enabling the elderly and people with disabilities to fully participate within their communities.

We provide technical assistance (TA) to grantees to help with successful implementation of their MFP Demonstration Grant. Our team conducts needs assessments with the MFP grantees to identify individual state as well as general TA needs. We also develop and conduct training and technical assistance sessions for up to 44 grantees and supporting organizations. TA delivery channels include individual state consultations, teleconferences, web-based video conferences, newsletters, informal peer-to-peer, short-term intensive sessions and customized knowledge dissemination channels.
